Charmalee Custom Events is more than just a company – it’s a tribute to Makenzie’s grandmother, Charmalee, whose love for her family, creativity and magic shaped who she is today. She filled her childhood with enchanting tales, inspiring Makenzie’s passion for fantasy and beautifully crafted experiences. Naming our business after her was our way of honoring her legacy and sharing that same sense of wonder with every event we create.

Our Why
In the midst of overwhelming loss and unimaginable grief, we found a spark of hope and purpose that transformed our lives. In the darkest time of our journey, we lost our beloved son, Dorian at 39 weeks pregnant. Not long after, we faced the unexpected hardship of Makenzie being laid off from her job. It was a time when everything felt uncertain, but we knew deep down that we had to channel our pain into something meaningful.
This project, this dream, was born out of that pain, but it is also fueled by love, resilience, and a deep desire to honor our son’s memory. Every aspect of what we do is a dedication to him, a testament to his brief but profound impact on our lives. What began as a way to cope with loss, quickly grew into a passionate purpose to help others and create something that would carry his spirit forward.
This is not just a business. This is our way of keeping his memory alive, of finding meaning and connection through our pain. It’s our commitment to creating something lasting, something with heart and soul, that reflects the love we have for him. Every step of the way, we are reminded that even in the most heart-wrenching moments, there can be light, purpose, and the power to create something beautiful in honor of those we’ve lost.
